Today, we're celebrating three years that our sweet Emily was placed forever in our arms. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by and how much Emily has changed. She continues to amaze us in all facets of her life. She is such a social, smart, funny little girl. We have been so blessed by this amazing angel.
While we were in China, I made a point to purchase 16 years worth of gifts to give to Emily on her Forever Family days. Some of the gifts are just small, cutesy things (panda puppets, combs) but others are a little more elaborate (China tea set, pearls, embroidery). We hadn't even met Emily, and I had already purchased an embroidered hankerchief for her to carry on her wedding day (her province is known for its embroidery). (I like to plan ahead:) This year, we gave her a panda purse, a brocade heart mirror, and a small embroidered jewelry box--she's very into her girlie accessories now.
We started the day with Emily preparing a breakfast picnic for us: pizza and cake. The remainder of the day, we decorated the house for Christmas and ran errands. For dinner, we went out for Chinese with Uncle Jeff & Aunt Cherie (Uncle Fun & Aunt Sensible).
** One of Emily's oldest and dearest friends, Iris, is also celebrating her Forever Family Day today too. We love you, sweatheart!! We're so happy you're a part of Emily's life!! **
** You're especially in my thoughts today, Dad!!! Wishing you could have met this incredible angel of ours and wishing she could have met her Mommy's incredible father! Love you & miss you! **
